Low-Fat Turkey Stroganoff

I created this low-fat turkey stroganoff recipe to replicate the flavor of traditional beef stroganoff. I use fresh ground turkey to ensure I’m only getting 1 gram of fat per ounce. This dish is great with egg-less noodles, rotelli or macaroni.

Ingredients used:

For 1 people

  • 1/4 Lb - Ground turkey breast
  • 1 medium - Onion - sliced
  • 2 cloves - Garlic - minced
  • 2 teaspoons - Paprika
  • 1 tsp - Dill weed
  • 12 Oz - Fresh mushrooms - sliced
  • 2 C - Skim milk
  • 1/3 C - Flour
  • 2 Tbsp - Beef bouillon granules
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • 4 Oz - Nonfat sour cream

Recipe steps:

  • Saute the ground turkey with onion and garlic.
  • Add the paprika, dill weed and mushrooms.
  • Mix together and pour into the meat mixture the skim milk, flour and bouillon granules.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the mushrooms and onions are cooked and the mixture is thickened. Add salt and pepper to your taste. Stir frequently.
  • Just before serving, stir in the nonfat sour cream. Serve over egg-less noodles, rotelli or macaroni.

This delicious turkey stroganoff is a great low-fat alternative to the traditional beef stroganoff. It’s easy to put together and is a great way to make a healthier version of a classic recipe. Serve it with egg-less noodles, rotelli or macaroni for a complete meal.
