Grilled Great Grains Burger

This Grilled Great Grains Burger is a vegan friendly and healthy meal option. Made with mushrooms, onions, oats, brown rice, egg, Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce, it takes only 20 minutes to prepare and cook and serves 6 people. It’s a great way to get your daily dose of protein, fiber, and complex carbohydrates without feeling weighed down.

Ingredients used:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of minced mushrooms
  • 1 small of minced onion
  • 1/4 cup of ground oats
  • 3 cups of cooked short grain brown rice
  • 1 of beaten egg
  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

Recipe steps:

  • Heat the oil in a small skillet over medium high heat. Add the mushrooms and onions and saute until the mushrooms are dark and the onion is golden, about 6-7 minutes.
  • Prepare an outside grill with an oiled rack set 6 inches above the heat source. On a gas grill, set the heat to medium.
  • Combine the mushrooms and onions with the remaining ingredients. Form the mixture into 6 patties.
  • Grill the burgers, turning once, for a total of 6-7 minutes until the outside is golden brown.
